Wedding Guest Meltdown

I can’t believe i’m even having to type this but here goes.


So me (F28) just got married last month, everything was perfect until it was ruined. My older brother has always been a bit of a mess but nothing too serious, we used to get on well.

Apparently he decided to get trashed at the reception. Like full on, can’t walk straight, yelling at people, spilling drinks on the tables trashed. I was trying to enjoy the first dance with my new husband when i saw him shouting at the DJ because apparently they didn’t play his favourite song.

Then he starts telling one of my bridesmaids and best friend that he doesn’t approve of my choice of husband and that she should have stopped me from marrying him. What? Everyone is staring, some guests are trying to calm him down but he just keeps shouting.

He even got the microphone and tried to make a toast himself, insulting our parents and hinting that i only married my husband for the house we bought (not true, he’s not even rich). I was literally hiding. People were taking videos and posting them on social media, some guests were laughing, my mum looked like she was about to slap him.

My new husband tried to lead him outside but brother resisted, yelling he was “saving me from a mistake”(?!) I dunno how anyone can say that whilst in that state. Friends finally got him out but he was yelling and screaming the entire way, he dragged a bunch of food on to the floor too.

The rest of the night was ruined. Some people left early, and I keep replaying the videos my cousin sent me. I feel so angry and embarrassed, and like I can’t even celebrate my own wedding now. My husband says it’s fine, everyone has their own drama but I dunno. i just keep thinking we shouldn’t have invited him in the first place


I honestly dont know if i’ll ever forgive him or even speak to him again, he’s messages me and tried to call but I’m so angry, how could he ruin my day like that, he’s so selfish.
